Today, we’re proud to share details about our new ‘Personal Accounts’ system, which simplifies how our trusted e-store partners access game keys from publishers.
The New System
Publishers such as Team17 and Nacon turn to Rokky to unlock new sales opportunities by selling Steam keys outside of Valve’s platform. We do this by distributing publisher-approved game keys to a network of e-stores across the globe, which in turn sell these keys to their local audiences. But you may have wondered how e-stores receive game keys from Rokky?
Previously, our partners would discuss pricing with us manually, place orders through our request system, and wait for processing. Now, all prices are visible in real time within the product catalog, with orders made directly and keys instantly shared. We’ve introduced a dedicated Partner Area within the Rokky dashboard where partners can track and top up their balance, access the full product catalog with live prices, instantly place and manage orders, and export all necessary reports. We’ve done the maths and expect that this automation improves transaction speed by up to 60%, reducing operational overhead for both sides and ensuring partners can move faster than ever.
Here’s how the new automated system works:
Verification and Onboarding: Before becoming a Rokky partner, e-stores must first undergo our rigorous manual verification process. We check audience size and track records to ensure only trusted partners gain access to the system
Browse Available Game Keys: Within the dashboard, e-store owners can view the full catalog of game keys offered by our publishing partners. We continue to provide daily pricing consultancy, with stock availability and game costs kept up to date
Selecting and Purchasing Keys: Our e-store partners select the desired game keys and quantities; and then make payment - all within the dashboard
Sell Keys On The Storefronts: With keys instantly shared after purchase, e-store partners can immediately offer them to their own customers
What Does It Mean For Publishers?
This upgrade is designed to benefit game publishers by increasing the speed at which your game reaches alternative distribution channels. In essence, e-stores can now access key inventory more quickly to respond to demand. If your game becomes a viral hit or gathers high levels of interest, e-stores of all sizes can quickly place keys in the hands of players across the world.
Of course, our approach to alternative distribution continues to be powered by consultancy from the Rokky team. Every e-store that is granted access to the system is thoroughly vetted as we consider their audience and experience in selling game keys from publishers. We determine game pricing manually, considering regional spending and marketplace behaviour to ensure that games are not devalued by the grey market.
Ultimately, the personal accounts update will increase the speed of distribution while retaining the consultancy of Rokky that dozens of our publisher partners value.
